The 2013 vintage
The 2013 harvest will be remembered as “vintage”, as the grape harvesting operations began on average 15 days later than in the last 10 years, and ended in early November with the last bunches of Nebbiolo collected. For Nebbiolo, the start of the season was conditioned by the climate which led to a delayed bud break. This delay was not recovered with the summer, however, from August until the harvest the climate was optimal for phenolic synthesis, with warm and bright days, accompanied by cool nights in particular from the second half of September. Nebbiolo therefore benefited more in the final part of the season, in fact it was able to enjoy the high temperatures recorded in September and October,

The wine

Vinification: soft pressing with de-stemming; fermentation at controlled temperature with 10-14 days maceration on the skins; maturation in oak barrels and refining in bottle for a few months. 38 months after the harvest it is ready to be put on the market.
Color: ruby red with garnet reflections evolving with aging.
Bouquet: ethereal, intense, of ripe fruit with notes of rose and blackberry to which, with the evolution, licorice and spices are added.
Taste: structured, elegant, which recalls the olfactory sensations and with a spicy mineral aftertaste.
